Mindy Austin and Chris Smith’s music is rooted inAmericana, combined with folk and country. ranging from artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Emmy Lou Harris, Jackson Brown, John Hartford, Kate Wolf, Nancy Griffith and many others. The beautiful blend of their voices and guitar work will captivate you as you follow the stories in the songs. Mindy Austin’s passionate vocals and guitar work stem from a broad range of influences. Growing up in Los Angeles afforded her the opportunity to see many of the greats at small local clubs. These formed her musical direction and helped develop her into a gifted interpreter of many styles of music including country, folk, rock and jazz. She has had the opportunity to perform with former members of The Stone Canon Band, The Desert Rose Band, Neil Sedaca, The Electric Prunes and June Poiter, formerly of The Poiter Sister and many other top musicians in Los Angeles area and Northern California. Chis Smith’s excellent guitar and vocal work, draw on his collective performances and recording experience with artists such as Jackson Browne, David Lindley, Herb Pedersen, Jennifer Warnes and many other renownedmusicians. The combined strengths and influences create a sound that is both new and timeless, that draws upon fundamental themes found in Americana, folk & country music.
